My mom used to taught me to made these. We then argued a lot in the kitchen on how it should be made. My mom passed away a couple years ago. I still can't move on. And this video showed up in my recommended list. I cried… This brings memories both bitter and sweet.

I actually like this style of mochi than the ones that made from flour. It has a nice grainy texture. I'd love to try to make this but Japanese sweet rice is quite expensive here.

  33. Angelrocks より:

    Higurashi feels

  34. I've never used black sticky rice, but I don't see any reason why you can't 🙂

  35. May I use black sticky rice instead of white sticky rice??

Michael Phelps is also an Olympic athlete. The guy probably burns 4500~6000 carbs a day during training, so he NEEDS all that energy. Because he's burning so much energy it wouldn't cause any of the issues I mentioned. It's the same reason miners eat so much.

But the vast majority of us aren't like Michael Phelps–not only are we not built for that level of exercise, but we also don't exercise as our career. You're making a silly apples-to-oranges comparison.

    Also, THREAAAD NECROMANCY~~~

  37. uagniza より:

lol if you think your right check out Michael Phelps diet. and guess what he still LIVES.

  38. Maggie Hood より:

Umm are those beans really sweet ? it's just, not most beans are sweet

  39. Niels Pausma より:

Pin pon ball 😀 hearing it with the accent so many times was great!

  40. Emily Nguyen より:

You can cook it in a pot with lid. for sticky sweet rice you have to pour hot water to the pot with the rice. According to this recipe the water line will be about 4mm above the rice surface.cover and cook in high heat first then turn down to medium. When the water's running out, turn off the heat but keep covering lid for about 15'. Anko bean is redbean basically. I think you can even find it from the normal market.

  41. shalenaiscool より:

Chef is so cute XD <3

  42. TetraArt より:

how should you cook the rice if you don't have a rice cooker?
also are anko beans available in America?

  43. Panda_Angela より:

@WickedLenn You can find it at most asian super markets and groceries.

  44. WickedLenn より:

Does anyone know where to buy the red bean paste?
